بدأ البحث بتعريف النکاح في اللغة والشرع تعريفًا وسطًا مدعوم بالنصوص المعتبرة من کتب اللغة والشرع.  ثم بين حکمه من حيث الوجوب والندب والإباحة والتحريم موضحا الحالات التي توجبه أو تبيحه
أو تحرمه من خلال نصوص الکتاب والسنة ثم أتبع ذلک ببيان حکمة تشريعه مدعومة بأقوال العلماء وآرائهم في ذلک. ثم رکز البحث على ضوابط اختيار الزوج لزوجته وما ينبغي مراعاته في الأوصاف التي ينبغي أن تتوفر في الزوجة والتي تضمن نجاح الأسرة واستقرارها مدعمًا ذلک کله بالأحاديث النبوية الصحيحة المخرجة من مصادرها الأصلية ثم يعقب ذلک بيان ضوابط اختيار الزوجة لزوجها من خلال نصوص السنة النبوية المخرجة من کتاب السنة ثم اختم البحث بالحث على ما ينبغي من المعاملة الحسنة من قبل الزوج لزوجته وقد حرص الباحث على دعم بحثه بالأدلة الواضحة وأقوال العلماء الموضحة لها والکاشفة عن أسرارها ثم ذيل البحث بخاتمة وفهارس تيسر الاستفادة منها .
The research starts with a balanced definition of marriage in language and Sharia that is supported with valid texts from the books of language and Sharia. Then, its rulings are described in terms of obligatory, recommended, allowable and forbidden, explaining the cases that render it obligatory, allowable or forbidden through the texts of the book of Allah and the Sunnah. This is followed by
a description of the reasoning of its legislation supported with sayings and opinions of scientists in this regard. The research then focuses on the controls of husband's choice of his wife and wife’s qualities that should be taken into account to ensure the success and stability of family, all supported with valid prophetic sayings (hadiths) from the original sources. This is followed by explaining the controls of wife’s choice of her husband through the texts of the Sunnah extracted from the book of Sunnah. The research is concluded by urging the good treatment by the husband to his wife. The researcher was keen to support his research with clear evidences and illustrating sayings of scientists that reveal its secrets. The research is ended with
a conclusion and indexes that facilitate their use.
